We had a great campout in Los Vaqueros, outstanding weather, great Potluck, and great trails. Outstanding work by the Park Trail Maintenance crew, Cold Stream along the highway was in the best shape we have ever seen it. It is so nice to have it back for riding. The lake loop was also nicely maintained by the trail crew. Our many thanks for the excellent trail maintenance. The water station for the horses on Cold Stream is back in fine shape, the club so appreciated the good work. The park did a great job of mowing camp for the extra parking. We had everything from members sleeping in tents, in their trucks/cars, horse trailers, travel trailers, RVs, and Living Quarters. Three naughty horses escaped but all were quickly captured. Our heroes grabbing the escapees were Danette (LFR BOD member), Belinda, and Megan. Great job ladies!!! One member (a big guy younger than 40, that's rare!) voluntarily jumped off his misbehaving very short horse (icelandic), landing on his feet. We tried not to kid him too much, plus the rumor is he got his feet out of the stirrups, stood up and the horse scooted out from underneath him. :-). We had one other rider dumped by its mount. Yes, the horses were definitely frisky and full of attitude. We are hoping for chocolate cake at the next meeting! Only bruised egos, no injuries so we consider that a win for a exciting camp. Enjoy the Pictures.

2018 May Los Vaqueros Group Camp:
LFR enjoyed a great campout at Los Vaqueros May 31 - June 4. Weather was good, trails were not as busy as prior Memorial weekend campouts. Lots of wildlife to see, members enjoyed the wine tasting and the catered dinner Saturday evening. Enjoy the photos of camp. Many thanks for the pictures contributed by our members: Patti Karcher, Barbara Hughes, Cyndi Denny, Kammi Montanero, Billi-Jo Swanson, Chelleen Malone, Danette Hayden, Judy Clark to name a few. Be sure to check out our camp album on FB. More pictures to come. Please be aware that the water source is not working on Cold Stream/Cold Spring junction.

2018 February Stagecoach Campout:
LFR, RTA, and BCH joined together at Stagecoach RV resort. Activities included hitting the trails of course and meeting in the clubhouse for Game Night, Saturday Potluck with evening entertainment afterwards, and LFR's Pancake Breakfast on Sunday morning. The entertainment was a country band on Saturday evening with a few LFR members line dance led by Cathy Nelson. It was a great evening of entertainment for the crowd.
Rides include Plum and Box canyons, the loop trail, and Little Blair Valley. Weather was great, a bit cool in the evenings, prompting a couple of nights of blanketing the horses. The Winds on Monday made leaving camp exciting for those who waited until Monday to leave. Everyone was awake all night from Sunday to Monday thanks to the howling winds. Horse Blankets blew over the horses' heads.
We had a good turnout for game night, 50 people for potluck and 45 for the Pancake Breakfast. Game night was exciting with dominoes, a card game called Golf, and Yahtzee as members had fun. Members worked on a community huge jig saw puzzle just for the challenge. The pancake breakfast offered both regular and blueberry pancakes.
A big Thank You to the volunteers who came into the kitchen to help with the Pancake Breakfast: Barbara, Howard, Steve the coffee King, the sausage queen Linda Hunt, the egg guru Marilyn, pancake queens Cyndi and Barbara. Thanks to the Gibson's who served up the food and Joyce for checking everyone in, Jody H. for the egg & OJ donations. The blueberry pancakes were a big hit thanks to Costco.
