LFR with their 2nd camp event for the year. We sold 42 corrals for this camp out. On Friday 6pm, we will be attending the Fish Fry at the Lake Cuyamaca Restaurant. The Club is providing Tri Tip for the main course for Saturday's potluck. Members attending, please side dishes and desserts to share. Arrive at camp after 2:30 pm on Thursday, May 22. Be sure to tell Theresa how long you will be staying. Bring cold weather gear for yourself and your horse. Bring Winter Blankets for your horse, coat, hat, gloves and warm blankets for sleeping. Camp Summary: Everyone had a wonderful time, we managed to park all the rigs, trucks, RVs, and campers. It was warmer than last year, and the Fish fry is no longer all you can eat. The wine tasting and the Potluck was a big success with a big turnout, and more folks joined the club. We had a little excitement with the restroom/shower facility that required maintenance, two horses went lame on trail requiring a trailer ride back to camp, and one rider owes a chocolate dessert to the next meeting, and the grandfather of rattlesnakes scared a few members snoozing in their lounge chairs. A bird's nest with five active chicks hidden in Lisa Young's LQ rode all the way to camp, Lisa fed them soaked bread, and turned the nest over to the park rangers who took the nest and chicks to a caretaker of baby birds. We have a picture of one of the chicks sleeping, it's not dead, it's sleeping. An AH moment. Everyone was sorry to see camp come to an end. Please see the Photo Gallery for all pictures with more to come.
