ABOUT US:
The Lakeside Frontier Riders is a family-oriented riding club, established in 1948 and incorporated in 1953, to promote the interest in horses and horsemanship. We are dedicated to trail riding horse camping; striving to preserve, protect, and develop multi-use trails for equestrians, bike riders, and hikers; along with promoting and supporting the Equestrian Community and Horsemanship in Lakeside and throughout San Diego County, California.
We are community of individuals whose lives include equines of all breeds, enjoying nature from horseback, while preserving and maintaining the environment we ride in.
We are actively involved in community and we work, participate, and support other Equestrian groups for the love of horses, trail riding, and everything associated with horses.
Our activities include: four horse camping trips each year, in the summer and fall at Los Vaqueros horse camp in Cuyamaca State Park and a winter camping at Stagecoach RV resort in the Anza-Borrego desert, and we go to the Warner Springs area to Horse Camp of Chihuahua Valley in the spring. We have a fun Christmas party in early December and monthly group trail rides exploring trails all over San Diego County.
We also regularly donate to community organizations such as FFA, the Boy and Girl Scouts, various local equine therapy programs and horse rescue organizations, the Humane Society, and programs serving both the public and our veterans.
We meet the third Thursday of every month (except December and any other month that our meeting conflicts with our camping trips) at 6:00 p.m. at the Ranch House Restaurant on 11510 Woodside Avenue, Santee, 92071, one block from the Riverford exit off of Hwy 67. We invite the public to come to a meeting and see what we are about. Come early to visit and meet our members and have dinner.
